1 of 2. While all of my mosaics are one-of-a-kind, this African Elephant holds a particularly personal significance. Beyond depicting the elephant, the piece weaves in subtle, layered elements—some hidden at first glance—that honour the client’s family history. The animal represents the client’s South African roots, a Lily representing their time spent living in Saskatchewan, a hidden Canadian leaf, and even the Batman symbol. Although I no longer accept traditional family portrait commissions, I’m drawn to creating thoughtful, symbolic works that commemorate someone or something special. This 42" x 60" mosaic honours this families lineage, history, and fond memories.
